It begins with your character- they have received a congratulatory e-mail from the prestigious Hope's Peak Academy, and they want your talented character to attend their school as a part of a special, experimental class! But before any of that happens, there seems to be something else they're offering you...

You, a particularly talented student who has applied for Hope's Peak Academy, have been accepted into the spring class of 20XX! You will soon receive a detailed guide of our school as well as a map and a copy of our newsletter. We have attached a comprehensive file of your acceptance letter and the necessary paperwork for you to transfer schools, but first, we have yet another offer for you.
We would like you to take part in an all-expense paid trip to the western-styled, historic Half-Moon Mansion situated south of Tokyo. While it had previously been a structure used for peace talks between nations during times of turmoil, it has more recently been utilized as a catering center and inn. We have reserved this mansion for two weeks during March before your term begins, and for its original purpose- peace talks! We believe that talented students such as yourselves contain a special type of hope and resolve within you, and we have set up a retreat in which you can discuss projects for helping the needy in this time of growing disillusionment among young people with social issues. In addition, we are willing to issue a check of 800,000 yen (or its equivalent) to families whose children are taking this special offer. We have enclosed the directions to the mansion, as well as a map of the premises. Please consider our offer.[/font]

One more was simply chosen at random from a raffle to come on the retreat as well as attend a semester at Hope's Peak, the title of 'Ultimate Luck' being bestowed upon them.
