After Lucca finished his conversation with Daniel, he went back to the library to pick up the books that Paris had found for him. When he arrived and found the table that the book were on he was surprised to see how big the stack of books really was. "Was the stack always this big? I don't know...ugh why am I having trouble remembering? I guess I must have hit my head harder than I thought. Well I guess it couldn't hurt to have more to read." Lucca stretched his arms and prepared to carry the heavy load all the way up to his room. He picked up the stack and started to make his way to the foyer and up to his room. It was a lot heavier than it looked. Lucca had definitely never been the strongest person there is but he was definitely no slouch either, and besides a lot of his roles required him to be in pretty good physical condition.
By the time he got to the middle of the foyer and almost to the stairs Lucca was feeling very exhausted. He could feel sweat trickle down his face and drip onto his shirt. His hands felt very sweaty and that was making it hard to keep a good grip on the books. He was determined to make it to his room. He had started climbing the stairs, his legs shaking with every step he took. He had made it up about 6 steps when he slipped and fell. He tumbled down the stairs and back onto the floor. He looked up, the books were scattered everywhere. He felt kind of dizzy and his arms were sore. He looked around at all the scattered books. "I better not let Paris see this. I get the feeling that it would not end well." He suddenly felt a sharp pain on his head and noticed a drop of blood hit the ground. "God Dammit..." Lucca got up and went to a mirror. He saw that there was a gash on his forehead. "I should really get this looked at, but maybe I should pick these books up first."

David had just left his room, intending to walk around and observe, and perhaps head over to the library, and borrow a good novel. He had had enough of detective novels, intriguing though they were, and hoped to find something new, possibly in the science-fiction genre. Normally, he would also take some books relevant to his field, as you could never have too much knowledge; but under the circumstances borrowing a book on poisons might be frowned upon.
As the sound of several large, heavy things hitting the ground reached his ears, he hastened down the stairs, curious. A boy had apparently dropped a large number of books, many of which now lay scattered along the stairway and on the floor. Picking up some as he went, he accosted Lucca, identifying him by sight.
"Did you really think you could carry all these books at one go? You ought to have taken them in two trips."
David had noticed the gash on the boy's forehead, am but said nothing of it. Surely he could feel the pain and blood welling out, and would have the sense to pay a visit to the doctor afterwards. It was probably better to get the job done first.
Turning on his heel, he walked back up the stairs with half the books, beckoning for Lucca to follow.

After Lucca had picked up a few books he had heard footsteps. He looked and at the top of the stairs was the boy Lucca identified as David Bennett, the SHSL Toxicologist.
The Actor had noticed David pick up some books on his way down the stairs. "Oh thanks David. Sorry to make such a mess. I guess I'm clumsier than I thought. Haha." "Well this first impression could have gone better, way better." Lucca started to feel the pain from his gash get worse. Lucca flinched and pressed his hand on his head. "Ow....Damn this hurts. I should really get this checked out..." Lucca eventually took his hand away from his forehead, his hand stained with crimson. He started picking up books again, but this time with only his left hand, so he wouldn't get the books all bloody.
"Haha yeah...In retrospect that is probably a better idea. I just thought I would be able to carry it without any problems, but damn those books are heavier than they look." Lucca was still confused as to how he wasn't able to carry the whole stack back to his room. "I guess I'm just not as strong as I thought haha." Lucca had been laughing and smiling but no one could deny the pain that showed in his eyes, from his earlier tumble.
Lucca saw David gesture to Lucca to follow him, and Lucca flashed a quick smirk at him. Lucca picked up the other half of the books and proceeded to follow David. He had assumed that they were going to go to Lucca's room to drop off the books, but he could never be too sure. "It is kind of suspicious, we had only spoken a few sentences to each other and now he's helping me. Maybe he's planning to...no...no he wouldn't do that...I hope."
Lucca then felt the pain worsen and it had caused him to put down the books and fall down to his knees, pressing both of his hands on his forehead. "S-son of a bitch, this really hurts." Lucca's voice was shaky, and full of pain. "I really need to get this looked at, before it kills me."

David turned around as he heard Lucca call back to him. Apparently he was hurt badly enough that postponing the visit to the doctor wasn't a good idea. This was a severe injury, and, judging from the fact that the Actor had fallen to his knees, quite painful.
The Actor? Hmm... Tell me he's not acting this out to get me to do his work for him... No, not likely, not in this kind of tense situation.
He crouched to get a better angle on the wound, which was already covered in blood and dripping on the floor. David's skeptical side told him that if anyone saw this, they would think that he was trying to murder him. He had to hurry up and fix the situation.
I ought to bandage this before taking him to Angie. Goodness knows, she might not even let us in for this.
He pulled out his handkerchief. Back in high school, it would be stained with chemicals from the laboratories where he would spend his free time, but in this mansion, it was spotless.
He might think I'm administering poison through the cloth. Better clear this up first.
Holding out the handkerchief, he said,
"I'll bandage it first. That is, if you let me. I know all about those retards who sue doctors for initiating medical procedures without permission, and in this particular situation, it's just more necessary. No chemistry lab here, so it's perfectly clean."

"O-Oh definitely. I'm not really in the position to refuse help right n-" Lucca suddenly stopped talking when he saw all the blood on his hands and on the floor. Lucca could always handle a little bit of blood from a cut or scrape but when he saw all the blood that came from him, he was completely horrified. "Oh my god.." Lucca felt uneasy, from both the blood loss, and the sight of all the blood.
"Do y-you know where to get bandages for this sort of thing? Oh god if he doesn't...who knows what'll happen to me." Lucca struggled to stand up. His legs shook as he forced himself up.
"I really hope that there's some sort of infirmary here." Lucca pressed one palm on his wound, hoping it would slow down some of the blood loss.
It was at this point when Lucca's eyes started to well up with tears. Lucca never really cried that much in normal life, he only ever cried if a script called for it, in fact he hadn't even noticed he was crying until he felt a couple tears run down his face. "Huh, why am I crying? Oh god he's gonna think I'm a sensitive weakling. God dammit, me why do you always make a fool out of yourself...myself? There has to be some reason for these goddamn tears"
"I-I'm scared.... I hate to admit it but...I'm scared. I've never had an injury like this before, and we don't even know if there's an infirmary here. I guess this is kinda payback for calling that bear thing a monster. I-I just don't want to die... I want to see my family again, I want to see my mother and my sister...a-and my li-" Lucca was unable to finish his thought as the pain started to come back.

David frowned as he watched the Actor break down. He hadn't seen this kind of reaction from anyone for a wound, excepting an eight-year old kid back in his high school. And Lucca certainly was no kid. Suspicion reared its ugly head, and the toxicologist's eyes narrowed: it seemed that Lucca was going a little too far. There had been no need for him to put up a front just to convince David to help, and now no such deception would help him.
"Quit it with the histrionics, you. There's no need to act so melodramatic."
Scowling, he grabbed his head and tied the handkerchief around it, ignoring Lucca's cries of pain. He had had quite enough of the fellow student and his waterworks, and would gladly have left him to his fate if it could be done with an easy conscience and no fear of misinterpretation. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Securing the makeshift bandage to make sure that it would hold the wound closed even if the fool went into hysterics, he picked up his share of the books and glanced at him, before heading off. Anyone would understood his meaning:
"Let's get rid of this load first. Then you can go see Angie, and I can get back to my work."

Lucca could tell that David was annoyed with Lucca's crying, but he couldn't help it, he hated the thought of never seeing his family again." I know I'm acting like a fucking crybaby, I know that I have to be stronger, b-but David didn't have to be so goddamn rude about it."
Lucca felt his blood start to boil, his face started to feel hot, and he clenched his fist so hard that his hands turned red and his knuckles turned white. He couldn't stand it when people are rude for no reason at all. Lucca had done nothing wrong, he was just scared, he wasn't acting, not in a serious situation like this.
Eventually Lucca was patched up and the bleeding slowed down, almost to a stop. But Lucca was still pretty angry with David because of his previous comment. He tried to let it go, but he just couldn't.
"David...I appreciate your help, I really do, but do you have to be so goddamn rude?" Lucca's voice changed from its usual cheerful and happy tone to something more angry and almost sinister."Who the hell are you to tell me to not cry, I can't help that I'm fucking scared! I was just told by Yogi Bear summoned from the darkest pits of hell that the only way to leave this place is to fucking kill someone. Why they hell shouldn't I be scared!? I'm so goddamn sorry that I'm actually showing some goddamn emotions, and for being scared for my family, who knows what's happened to them, to any of our families out there. I'm just so pissed off that I can't do anything to help our situation, and you're not helping with your snide fucking comments."
Lucca went up to the stack of books he set down earlier and picked them up, ready to head back to his room. "Now can I have the rest of my books so I can have some goddamn peace and quiet in my room?"

David sighed and shook his head. Why did so many of his social interactions end like this? It was as if he sought something in humanity that it simply didn't possess. People were just too irrational, too emotional, too childish. They matured in both but never in mind, staying eternally nonsensical. It was no wonder that he most commonly exploited loophole in Asimov's Laws of Robotics was that humans could not always be trusted to do what was best for the race. Hell, they couldn't even be trusted to do what was best for themselves! This kid ought to know that panicking and getting angry would only make the bleeding worse, yet he did it anyway.
And what was with the expletives? Has our generation degenerated to the point where they cannot even insult each other with refinement and originality, but must resort to cliché and slang? Or had it always been this way? Perhaps it had be the same for the previous generation, and the one before it. No matter. It was a minor problem on a grand scale, and it was neither his destiny nor his purpose to solve it.
Should I just do what he says? No, he'd never get back to his room under this load. And if anything untoward happens, it could be misconstrued as murder.
Ignoring Lucca, he returned to his previous path, straight to the Actor's room. He had been in these situations before and he knew that logos wouldn't get through here, not without a lot of collateral damage. At the doorstep, he deposited the books, then turned around to face the boy.
"Well? At least this way you got to your room alive."
