The trip away from… tense, to say the least. Mai's stomach was in knots; her arm was pulsing from clutching at it so tightly, and she didn't even want to think about the mess her head was in. A crazy bear, a kidnapping, murder… The way she saw it, there were a few things she could do. She could do her usual, and practice to the brink of exhaustion; go back to her room, lock the door, and seethe in silent anxiety for the next few hours, with the hopes that she would manage to settle into uncomfortable sleep; or, she could try to make the most of this captive situation. Getting one of the two other people she knew in this place, she found Angie and the two of them had made their way from the ballroom to the librarian's bedroom in the easy wing. The long corridor was wide and empty, but the halls felt ten times more claustrophobic than they should have. Not for the first time, Mai was glad to have the doctor beside her. She knocked once, then twice on Paris' door, and before she could knock a third time, the impossibly alive toy bear's warning, 'lock your doors', rang through her head, and she thought to call out. "It's Mai and Angie."
In all honesty, she had no idea what state the librarian would be in. Part of her to be a mess, but mostly, she expected that she would be surprisingly together, after catching a glimpse of her personality in the library. Maybe she would be the calmest of the three of them, spouting off facts about hostages and kidnappings she'd read somewhere. Most likely, though, the honor would fall on Angie. Mai gave the girl beside her a curious look. She had been so composed at the ballroom. Had something like this happened to her before? Something more traumatic? Maybe she would find out. The three of us should probably be getting to know each other well, soon, if this doesn't blow over in a day.

Stiffening a yawn, she stood next to Mai and waited for the door to open. It's been a hell of a long day, and she was just about to head off to bed when the fencer had caught up to her. Originally taken aback by the invitation, she couldn't look Mai in the eyes as her mind raced for a decision. The cynic in her was strong, but Angie couldn't help but feel a little bad for the poor girl. The fencer clearly wasn't taking this turn of events well, and she could hardly bear to imagine how Paris was doing locked up in her room. A part of her was happy that Mai had reached out, and accepting it was really the least she could do as thanks. 'I'll.. I'll tag along and provide what little comfort I can, I suppose. She looks like she needs it.' Perhaps eventually, she could bring herself to trust these two. She wouldn't peg Paris and Mai as killers and that was definitely a plus, considering their current predicament.
“Paris, it's us.”, Angie called out. She tried to smile as she said so, but the past events were weighing heavily on her mind. A smile wouldn't form in a long time. What the bear did had shackled and chained away any chance of her feigning, not to mention showing, happiness. Her peers would have to be content with a frown and perhaps a scorn, or maybe a smirk when things turned sour. But with how things are though, at least nobody would blame her for being antisocial. The only one still smiling would probably be Amelia, but who knows how long that would last. 'Probably as long for it to takes for people to start dying.' thought Angie, cynically. “Let us in already.” she called out, rubbing her eyes. Persistence and stubbornness were fighting a losing battle against tiredness, and she dearly hoped that Paris would have some coffee in her room. One without poison, preferably.

Paris sat on the floor of her room, crouched small to the ground and trying to muffle herself. It felt weak, but so did she, and weakness was what was going to kill all of them. Tears ran down her face as she thought of how familiar it all seemed, but she had to shake that thought away. No, this mansion was supposed to be a clean slate...not a bloody one. At the knocking, she jumped and let out a small whimper. Upon hearing their voices, she immediately sighed in relief. Mai and Angie. They were...rational people. Hesitantly, she stood up and opened the door, smiling faintly at them with red eyes. She prayed and hoped they didn't comment on her appearance at the moment. “Ah, hey guys...” she managed, and then sighed. “Come on in.” She stood back to allow them in. Paris had to admit, seeing the two coming to her made her eyes light up and her heart feel lighter. They were...well, they were friends. Despite any previous tensions, friends were what would keep the peace around her.
None of the students...none of them seemed like killers. Even Haruka, bold as she was, couldn't be. She shook the thought. No, this was going to be okay. She briefly thought about her stack of books that had disappeared, but instead decided to focus on the people in front of her. Sitting down on her bed and leaving room for the other two, she looked at them expectantly. “You can...close the door and sit down. I actually... I've dealt with this before."

When the door opened, and Paris showed her face, Mai came to the sudden realization that she wasn't prepared for the sight of the librarian distressed. It felt like a cinch around her chest. She had to remind herself that crying it out was probably better than wrapping it all up. It was a sign of healthy processing, and moving on, and- She stepped through the entrance to the door, leaving it open for Angie. The room was spacious, and huge, but with the gravity of the situation weighing on her like a thousand of what that stupid metal bear must have averaged, Mai didn't feel taken away. So, she looked around for a chair to sit at, and chose one next to the desk, pulling it back carefully so it wouldn't scratch the ground and ruin the somber atmosphere, to face the bed.
" I've dealt with this before."
Mai paused in the middle of turning her chair, then turned it the rest of the way. She felt more sad than surprised. She'd expected it. More from the Ultimate Doctor, right… but the possibility wasn't completely off the table, either. "I- You have?" Mai eyed her with new interest. Crazy stalkers were probably always a possibility for people in Hope's Peak, but for classmates like the singer, or the Utaite, or even her- though she'd been mostly lucky there- with highly publicised talents. Ultimate Librarians weren't known for their crazed fan clubs. So was it something personal? She almost didn't want to know, and a weird mix of curiosity, dread and guilt were picking at her. Like making the librarian talk about… whatever she'd 'dealt with before' was as bad as subjecting it to her again. But she didn't say anything to stop her, and she might not even if it was appropriate..

Angie walked into the room, as quiet as ever. Her eyes wearily gazed up from the floor to take in her new surroundings, but she couldn't sustain the effort for more than a few seconds. It was too taxing on whatever energy she had left, and her eyes soon found itself staring at the growing familiarity of Paris' carpet. 'God damn, I need to rest.' thought Angie, attempting once again to rub the sleep away. Closing the door behind her, she checked that it was locked before shuffling further into the room. Placing a hand on Paris' shoulder, she offered what little comfort she could before walking away, attracted to the allure of the sofa. She laid down and rested her head on the sofa's armrest, pulling down her cap. Her eyelids struggled to keep themselves from closing. She probably would have dozed amidst the thick air of anticipation, if not for Paris breaking the silence. Hearing what she said, the tired gears in her mind begun to slowly turn. Sitting up with her legs crossed, she took off her cap and placed it on her skirt, her fingers stroking it absentmindedly. “I hope you don't mind me asking, but what happened back then?” Paris Eins Mai Nishioka I apologize profusely for that short reply, but it's really about all that I can write up right now. I'm really sorry.

{ooc: absolute apologies for my late responses and general absence. Things have been very...polarizing, lately. I promise to try to be more prompt! Hope this isn't too bad, I'm still a bit shakey with my writing right now} Paris' breath hitched in her throat as it dawned on her that she had to speak. Nononononononono nononononononono... The room suddenly felt claustrophobic, but...these two were the closest thing she had to friends. And with the new circumstances....perhaps they were her only friends forever. Might as well get the truth out, in case it helped the situation at all. Okay, easier said than done when she could feel her heart racing and smashing her ribcage to pieces. "I..." The librarian felt bile rise in her throat as she lost her nerve. Steadying herself, she began again. "Before I came here...my parents...well, they were famous businesspeople. Lots of traveling, lots of experiences...and because of their status, I..." She closed her eyes as the slideshow began in her mind. Not the first time, probably not the last. By now, she had learned to pretend it was just a movie. "I was kidnapped pretty...pretty often." She reached back, running her fingers gently down her neck, playing with her hair absentmindedly. "So after a while, I...tried my best to seem ambiguous. A passerby, no one worth anything..." Her grip tightened. "I'm n-not Paris Eins, usually." Like an old movie film reel, her thoughts flickered away into obscurity as she opened her eyes and looked at her companions. It hadn't been as hard this time. Okay, well...it had. Her heart still hurt, like her arteries were absolutely full and her heart was ready to burst. But...it felt freeing. For once, the bile tasted like freedom. {paging Mai Nishioka and Anzhelika 'Angie' Elisaveta}
