Once she reached her high school years, she returned home for a brief period before attending the local high school at her request. She devoted most of her early high school life to campaigning for a position on the student council, barely keeping up with academics, and eventually won over her peers. Haruka then worked at becoming the president of the student council, and after ruthless campaign work, won her election. She dedicated her time to making the high school better, managing to increase average exam scores several percentages higher than her predecessor, worked to enforce the school's rules, and ran the council with an efficiency that was unheard of. Her success made her a local celebrity, and, eventually, Hope's Peak Academy sent her an acceptance letter.
