Junichi "iTchY" Kichise - Utaite
The Basics
Name: Junichi Kichise.
Nicknames: Jun, iTchY*, JK Onpu.
Age: 15.
Grade: First Year.
Appearance: Regardless of how he is portrayed in fan comics, Junichi does not look particularly extraordinary – he is of a fair weight but below average height, his hair and eyes are standard brown and brownish/greenish shade respectively, and although his avatar is depicted with a full cowlick bouncing around the right side of his head (as seen in the picture provided), he lacks one in real life. What he does possess, however, if a certain boyish charm that is well-liked by girls between the ages of twelve and seventeen. He also uses a hair-styling tool to curl a kink of hair to more closely resemble his avatar, as requested by his fans.
At the time of the roleplay, his outfit of choice has a subtle mafia motif crossed with the school boy look: his white dress shirt has the first button popped, black chino jeans are secured around the hips with a sturdy leather belt, and his black blazer —already without fastenings— hangs open with the sleeves folded back at the forearm. A black panama hat encircled by a white ribbon finishes the look along with a red tie fashionably loose under his collar.

Hometown: Higashi, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
Talent: Utaite- in short, Junichi covers previously released songs and then posts them online. Although many others share his occupation, Junichi in particular was chosen by Hope’s Peak due to his standing as the most popular utaite of high school age. It should be noted that he is the proud muse for a doujin circle.
Mini-Profile: Born to a vertically-challenged couple in Higashi, Shibuya, Jun grew up in a low-ceilinged household with two parents, a one-year-younger sister and a puppy. From a young age he delighted in the lively atmosphere of the district, more so when its reputation as a launchpad for musicians attracted a dynamic indie band that happened to perform on his fifth birthday – granted, he doesn't remember them, but the brunet still insists that they kickstarted his interest in music. It was all thanks to his sister, however, that he began singing lessons at age ten, having been roped into them since Sachiko didn't want to take them alone.
Junichi's singing wasn't anything special to begin with, but his teacher was intrigued by his potential for a wide vocal range and, as homework, assigned him the task of experimenting with it over the weekend when no classes were held. Given the liberty of genres, Junichi took three songs that were popular at the time —one by a men's rock band, one by an idol group and one by a boy band— and recording himself doing karaoke. Since he couldn't directly email the videos due to cap on content size, he instead uploaded them to YouScreen* and sent the URLs to his teacher instead. Said educator was very impressed with his ability to sing in different pitches and whilst the young boy didn't understand a lot of the vocabulary thrown around, he was so proud of his achievements that he began regularly publishing his practices as a progress diary of sorts. Because he performed covers, almost all of his viewers came across his videos by accident when searching for the original songs, but a percentage of them subscribed when they found they liked his voice. Junichi, encouraged, continued his singing classes even when his sister replaced them with a computer club.
At age eleven, the budding utaite joined the Egao Egao Tēpu* community when a commenter suggested he migrate there to socialise with other people who shared his hobby. It was on EET that iTchY —his pseudonym— peaked – between his YouScreen audience and the members of EET, his view count raised significantly, and then when he moved up into Junior High, word spread about him having videos online. The flood of curious schoolmates' views pooled, and much to Junichi's surprise, he featured on the front page of EET for having gathered the most views on average per hour for that week; this, of course, lead more people to finding him which in turn lead to his fanbase swelling. For his thirteenth birthday he scraped together all of his funds to hold a small concert in Higashi, raising an impressive amount of money from people who came along, and he featured in a local newspaper titled "Thirteen-Year-Old Singer Raises ¥X At His Concert". Riding on the fame, Junichi began collaborating and did more stage performances over the year, gaining kudos as a charity donor, and his fortune continued further when he was recently scouted by Melodroid*, a company responsible for launching a revolutionary voice synthesiser program. It was here that his activity slowed since he had to dedicate time to his Melodroid, JK Onpu*, so he filled this lapse with YouScreen vlogs, an apology-laden blog and covers he had stored away in the event that he would be unable to sing regularly.
His prevalence is still going strong, but his official return is scheduled to happen as soon as the peace meetings —an occurrence he was invited to by Hope's Peak for his first year at the school— finish. He can feel that his luck as a high-roller is dying as he gets older, but what's the worst that can happen at the "Castle of Hope"?
{TL;DR: His sister took him to singing lessons, he has the ability to sing in higher-masculine and lower-feminine pitches, he began posting online and then got popular after hitting the most views on average per hour for that week. He did a stage performance, leading him to 'quieten down' when he's scouted as a voice producer for a company, and he plans on returning to the utaite community full-steam-ahead after the hope meetings.}
Favorite Color: Maroon.
The Details
General Personality: At base, Jun is quite simple in how he wants life to stay as it is – good. Although he wants enough twists to keep things from getting boring, the best outcome for him would be that he stays a figure that people can look up to and aspire to be. He accepts that he isn't a member of authority like a lawyer or minister, but Junichi is quite willing to use his influence to raise awareness or promote ideas; for example, he once held a charity event that is speculated to be so successful solely because of his popularity. That being said, he has to be careful to not spread false information or cause disagreements, hence why he avoid politics and the news.
In addition, he loves helping people because it gives him a sense of duty, and he doesn't expect much in return outside of a thank you. He's also good at keeping crowds happy and has a grand sense of empathy, albeit one that means he can be manipulated, as seen by how he changed his own physical appearance rather than how people drew his avatar with a sideways ahoge. All the same, if you're happy, he's good to go. However, he is very straight-laced when it comes to matters involving drink, drugs and other contraband – if he sees you using them then he will either remove the taboo or leave the room entirely. Whilst he doesn't like judging people (despite him unconsciously making assumptions), Junichi is known for rejecting offers to parties if he expects that it involves anything frat-related. This trait makes him respected by some people and disliked by others.
Otherwise, he is very jovial, approachable and easygoing – "Don't do what I wouldn't do, but otherwise do what you want! ╮(─▽─)╭". This can be frustrating at times, but that's reliant on your archetype. He's the kind of guy to go with the wind, and whilst he dabbles in trends, he can be hopeless when it comes to topics becoming in-depth unless it relates to his talent. Junichi is passionate about singing and is open to discussing it regardless of whether you're an utaite noob or a rival of his – in fact, he encourages conversation!
{TL;DR: Junichi wants to keep up his life as inspiration and contribution to good causes. Friendly and laidback but is strict with illicit goods. Enjoy his occupation immensely.}
Likes: Anything egg-fried, headphones that cover the ears entirely, dogs, the support provided by his fans, being able to help people by running errands, parties, raw gelatin cubes, Summer Tree*, his phone and oversized hoodies.
Dislikes: News centred around death, alcohol/cigarettes/drugs/ect, studded shorts, reading heavy text, the texture of lace, the smell of antiseptic, cooking and wide, empty spaces.
Hobbies: Listening to country music, camping, swimming, vlogging, collaborating and organising skits to add to his fanmade music videos.
Aspirations: Ideally, Junichi wants to continue what he does now – singing, entertaining and inspiring, even if he can retire. He strives to continue escalating, and with his ability and Hope Peak's name to carry him, he's sure he'll be able to continue his career despite people insisting he makes a back-up plan. His short-term goal at the moment is centred around JK Onpu winning a currently ongoing poll for the most favoured Melodroid, but otherwise he'll just hovering until the river of life sweeps him in another direction.

Other
- iTchY- a joke based on the combination of "Junichi" and "Kichise". "itchy", being the 'proper' pronunciation of "ichki", became him alias, with the "T" and "Y" capitalised since they were the only letters not in "ichki" to begin with.
- YouScreen- the Dangan Ronpa equivalent of YouTube.
- Egao Egao Tēpu (EET)- ...equivalent of Nico Nico Douga. Translates roughly to "Smiley Face Tune".
- Melodroid- ...equivalent of Vocaloid; is the combination of "Melody" and "android" in reference to Vocaloid being the combination of "Vocal" and "android".
- JK Onpu- another joke of Junichi's. "JK" are his initials as well as the acronym for "Just Kidding". Onpu is a loose translation for "music", giving JK Onpu a double meaning of "just kidding – Onpu is not an actual surname" and "just kidding [about your gender assumptions] – this song is by a ryouseirui".
- Summer Tree- depending on the timeline, either the band that rivalled Ibuki's old group, Black Cherry, or their successors/predecessors.
