The Basics
Name: Kiyomine Shimazu
Nicknames: Kiyo, Mine, Amari, hedgehog, Scruffy, Phones
Age: 17
Grade: Second Year (?)
Appearance: Standing at 5'8" and rather slender in build, Kiyomine is sometimes told he looks older than his seventeen years. His eyes are blue, framed by spiky, orange-brown hair that he claims is naturally gravity-defying and not the product of copious amounts of hair spray. He wears a sleeveless shirt with a funnel-shaped collar and an indigo stripe outlined with gold going down the middle, a yellow sweatband on his left wrist, and white shorts held up by a loose-fitting belt. His shoes are black with an indigo stripe outlined in gold, similar to the style of his shirt. Kiyomine is usually seen wearing his signature indigo headphones and with an MP3 player around his neck. (Sakuraba Neku from The World Ends With You)
Hometown: Nakano, Tokyo, Japan
Talent: Ultimate Jack-of-All-Trades; "Jack of all trades, master of none, / Certainly better than a master of one."
Mini-Profile: It started out of the blue, an establishment in the suburbs of Tokyo. With only a signpost written in elegant English letters out front to give it a name, Ataraxia was, for a while, an enigma to its neighboring residents. All until a girl around the age of ten wandered in, crying about a lost dog, to which she was surprised to find two teenagers lounging within. After giving her a cup of tea and some snacks, they sent her off, promising that they would find it for her. Three days later, the dog was returned to the girl and her parents safe and sound. That was the start of Ataraxia's reputation, a business that was said to be willing to lend support for any job under the sky. They did everything from odd jobs to things connected to the underground, and proved themselves to be extremely capable, not only through their talents, but also through their connections. It didn't matter what, so long as the duo who ran the business agreed to take the job, it would be done. Prices varied from client to client depending on the sort of job and connections needed, and little by little, the establishment's name spread through various circles. Shimazu Kiyomine was but one of the two who ran the shop, and neither teen liked speaking of what happened before the shop came into existence, leaving their enigmatic nature something that their customers have grown used to.
Favorite Color: Dark violet
The Details
General Personality: Kiyomine's kind of apathetic, with seemingly little concern for most anyone or anything he doesn't outright dislike. People he doesn't like or who bother him and his people are generally beaten up and learn not to mess with him. Years of this sort of "problem solving" has made him a little arrogant in his ability to survive and get out of things in one piece. That's still slightly better than the people he doesn't care about, since he usually doesn't bother remembering them, a facade he puts up to be irritating since he's actually eidetic.
Kiyomine's the type that does what he wants when he wants so long as the consequences aren't important enough for him to care about (which are most of them up until now) and he enjoys messing with the people he likes on occasion in a show of playful mischievousness. A bit of the moody sort, Kiyomine's temper can be somewhat volatile, especially when it concerns the things he cares about since he can get pretty possessive. Surprisingly honest, he is by no means quiet, but he usually relies on body language to convey how he's feeling about someone. To him, physical contact that doesn't come with fighting is a sort of proof of affection, so he can get pretty touchy-feely when around someone he particularly likes. Sometimes he unconsciously lapses into a seemingly amoral stage when he's feeling extremely stressed as a way to vent without taking any responsibilities at the time, but that's happened less and less often under his Ataraxia partner's care.
He likes a "fair exchange" in a relationship, so those who rely on him and do not seem to capable enough for him to rely on in return are gradually shunted into his "dislike" category. People who are being pointlessly whiny aren't pleasant for him to deal with either, especially since empathy isn't exactly his strong point. He's more likely to speak his mind than to keep quiet about something he finds ridiculous and unpleasant when something could be done about it to make it different, and he's naturally curious. Above all, he's one to respect emotional boundaries and privacy (excluding personal space) and in return, he expects his own to be respected. Taking his things without his knowledge makes him flip. He has a habit of hiding the things he treasures the most from other people, and he doesn't like having people know about or talk about his favorite things so casually.
Likes: Rhythm games, alcohol, family, cleanliness, Japanese cuisine, people or items small enough to hug, new music, post-it notes, simplicity
Dislikes: Restrictions, money problems, boredom, being alone, off-key singing, wooden pencils, macaroni and cheese, lies, rainy days
Hobbies: Video gaming, doing odd jobs, nothing specific
Aspirations: Nothing really; Kiyomine's pretty happy with his life as it is now. He'd like to stay happy, if possible. Really, all he wants is not to lose anything anymore.
