Calhoun sat, and waited. Waited for someone to acknowledge her entrance.
It quickly became obvious nobody was going to, other than some spiky-haired nobody who'd given her a funny look. She quietly and subtly frowned. This wasn't supposed to be how it went. People weren't supposed to ignore her.
Two people, apparently senior Hope's Peak staff, had come in to give some long and boring speech. Something about a designer? An honors program? Who caaaaaaared. There were things in this mansion so much more fun than some furniture. The students, for example...
As the speech ended and the students were dismissed for breakfast, Calhoun eyed the gathering down the table. They all began moving, talking, looking, interacting. Some went for food, others straight out the door, a sudden rush of movement and action. And from her seat at the head of the table, she could see all of them. She smiled and watched, carefully thinking of who to start making a move on.
The spiky-haired git had already gotten up and left. She'd have to catch up with him later, find out what his deal was. She continued to scan round the table. A scuffle over a scone, a group grabbing supplies to explore the building, a few lone stragglers exiting silently...
And near the other end of the table sat a rather odd looking pair. A quite small and sheepish student, accompanied (and almost protected, from the looks of it) by a man who looked... almost like a butler? Maybe that was his "talent", or whatever.
Either way, they looked fun.
She stood up from her chair, and practically strutted over to the two. She wasn't hungry, but a good coffee wouldn't go amiss, so she picked one from the table as she went past. Hopefully it didn't belong to anyone. She also made a mental note to pick up her keycard, but elected to leave it for now.
She reached the two she'd been eyeing, and smiled.
"Why thank you for the offer, but I can get it myself..." She placed her coffee on the table in front of him, and leaned over the cloth to reach for the sugar. As she did, she smiled, sure that her quite loose and low dress would... leave an impression, so to speak, on her target. Or anyone else who watched her exaggerated lean for sugar.
She stood back up, still smiling, and poured a small amount of sugar into her coffee before beginning to stir.
"I'm so sorry, but I believe I didn't catch your names? I was rather late this morning, sorry, but it's so nice to meet you, Mr and Ms..." She spoke with a warmth to her voice, as if trying to melt butter with it, and looked between the bespectacled librarian and blue-haired boy.
